My name is Erika Parra. I’m a designer born in the beautiful country of Colombia and living in the beautiful city of Montreal, Canada.

I love costumes, movies, dolls, fantasy, history and music and I’m working in pursuing my dreams of becoming a Costume Designer. With this blog I want to share with you my journey and my passion. I love creating things, working with my dolls allow me to learn and discover many techniques and fabrics and materials. I enjoy cosplaying every once in a while and the challenge it means recreating a character that I love.

I hope you enjoy it and hope we can learn and share many things too!

Love you costume! We have an annual costume contest in our little town and I am doing La Muerta costume. Any tips on the hat? Due to its size I was thinking of attaching everything to a bicycle helmet. Hair and all. What do you think? What did you use as your base?

    • Erika Parra says:

Hi Ramona, You don’t need a bicycle Helmet. I actually used a regular Dollar Store Hat. I removed the brim and used foam for the rest. My hair was separate so If I wanted to take the Hat off I still looked like La Muerte…=)

Hi there. I saw your Mad Hatter outfit for the couple from Montreal. Are you able to design me one or can you point me in the right direction?

    • Erika Parra says:

Hi Richard! Thank you for your comment! I could design and make you the costume knowing that it can not be exactly like mine since some fabrics are not available anymore but I would do my best to find you everything as close as possible. I would also like to know what is your budget.. Let me know!🤗

Hello you are a great designer i love your costumes. Do you have a utube tutorial for them? Also, how mych woyld you charge fir the muerte costume??? Thanks for the info.

    • Erika Parra says:

Hi Marina, Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I do not have a YouTube channel since I’m not really good at videos and usually I’m by myself working so It would be really difficult for me to shoot my progress… For a costume like La Muerte it would depend on how close you want it to be.. If you are interested it took me 300 hours to complete the costume plus materials. You can write me at erikapdesigner@gmail.com if you want further information. Hope to hear from you!

Hello Erika, I am working on a Red Queen costume for Halloween. In searching for ideas I stumbled across you! I am anxious to see how you put yours together.

    • Erika Parra says:

Thank you Christina… I’m a bit busy with school but I’m slowly loading the whole thing.. It was a lot of things that had to be done so I’m trying to post little by little with a lot of detail! Thanks again!

I was wondering if you had your patterns for the la muerte dress for sale? I’m a doll customizer and have been trying to find the perfect symbols for her dress, and yours are by far the most amazing and neat I’ve yet to see!!
